Fears of spiralling ethnic violence in Ethiopia’s Tigray region - BBC News
In Ethiopia, one of the world's poorest nations, there are fears that unrest in the northern Tigray region is descending into wider ethnic violence and the threat of all-out civil war. Fighting in Tigray erupted last year, when Ethiopia's central government mounted a military offensive against the region's political leaders and their armed supporters. Both sides have been accused of atrocities, and famine in the region is adding to the suffering. More than two million people have fled their homes, many to camps in neighbouring Sudan. Clive Myrie presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Africa correspondent Andrew Harding, from Ethiopia’s border with Sudan. Please subscribe HERE http://bit.ly/1rbfUog #BBCNews
