As Belarus is accused of state sponsored hijacking after the arrest of dissident journalist Roman Protasevich, EU heads of state call for his release and impose economic sanctions. Western countries have accused Belarus of "hijacking" the Ryanair plane in order to arrest the dissident reporter.
