Up to £10,000 fine for failing to self-isolate in England - BBC News
In a sign of the Government's determination to tackle a steep rise in coronavirus infections in England, it’s announced stiff financial penalties for anyone failing to self isolate after a positive coronavirus test. From September 28th, the fine will be £1,000 and up to £10,000 for repeat offences. People on low incomes who cannot work from home will be given a £500 pound lump sum. The news comes as Boris Johnson considers whether to tighten Covid-19 restrictions right across England, after saying the UK is "now seeing a second wave" of coronavirus.
