Sri Lanka attacks: Islamic State group claims responsibility - BBC News
IS may be linked to bomb blasts which killed more than 320 people and wounded 500, Sri Lanka’s prime minister has said. He conceded that a failure to share intelligence prevented security services from acting to stop the bombings. Police have now detained 40 suspects in connection with the attack, all of whom were Sri Lankan nationals. It’s been a day of national mourning across the country, as the mass funerals took place after Easter Sunday's suicide attacks on churches and hotels. Eight Britons were among those killed in the blasts. A state of emergency remains in effect to prevent further attacks. Clive Myrie and Rajini Vaidyanathan report on those affected in Sri Lanka, while Gordon Correra examines how IS might be involved.
